The big oaks, pecans and elms in Weston Lakes, Fulshear and Katy need regular, careful pruning to stay strong through storm season. We trim with the tree's health in mind — clean cuts at the right place, no topping, no "lion-tailing" and no climbing spikes on trees we're keeping.

Whether you need limbs off the roof, more light for the lawn or a full crown cleaning on a mature live oak, we'll explain exactly what we plan to cut and why before we start.

What we do

Crown cleaning & deadwood

Removing dead, broken and diseased limbs that can fall and spread decay.

Crown thinning

Letting wind and light through so the tree holds up better in storms.

Roof & structure clearance

Keeping limbs off the roof, gutters, siding and driveway.

Crown raising

Lifting low limbs over sidewalks, streets, lawns and parking areas.

Young tree structural pruning

Shaping young trees early so they grow into strong, safe adults.

Palms & ornamentals

Crape myrtles, palms and yard trees trimmed properly — no "crape murder".

When is the best time to trim trees in Fulshear and Katy?

Most trees can be pruned any time of year, and dead or dangerous limbs should come off whenever you see them. Oaks are the exception: to reduce the risk of oak wilt, Texas A&M Forest Service recommends avoiding oak pruning from February through June when possible, and sealing fresh oak wounds with wound paint.

A good rule is to have mature trees looked at every few years, and before hurricane season (June 1) if you have large limbs over your house.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I trim my trees?

Most mature shade trees do well with pruning every 3–5 years. Young trees benefit from lighter pruning more often while their structure forms.

Do you top trees?

No. Topping starves the tree, invites decay and grows back as weak, dangerous sprouts. We reduce height properly when it's needed.

Do you haul away the branches?

Yes. All brush and wood is hauled off and the area cleaned up unless you'd like to keep firewood.
